One of the requirements for this project is that you meet with Ms. Martin or Ms. Newsome for a reference interview. This is a quick 15-minute meeting where we discuss your research and help you plan your next steps. You need to meet with a librarian before Spring Break. Use the link above to sign up for a time that works for you. If none of the available times work for you, email Ms. Martin or Ms. Newsome to arrange another time to meet. There are up to four slots available each period, first come first served. Note: the sheet has different tabs for each month, so be sure you're in the right place.
An NYPL card is good for more than just checking out books (though it can do that too)! NYPL cardholders can access digital media like movies, ebooks and audiobooks, and music and search hundreds of databases (many can even be searched from school or home). Anyone who goes to school in NYC (that's you) is eligible for an NYPL card. You can apply online and pick your card up at any branch. The branch closest to school is the Bloomingdale branch at 150 W. 100th St. You can locate the NYPL branch closest to you here.

For this project, you will examine a particular theme, issue, or era through the lens of an artifact. Over the duration of your research, you will need to locate and explore sources contemporary to your artifact, as well as modern research.
